Sheila Tizzard
Physiotherapist
Sheila graduated with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2011 and has been practicing ever since. She loves her work and the ability to help people get back to life and health as soon as possible. She is a contractor who works for Hidden Valley Health Centre.
Since graduating, Sheila has furthered her education extensively in order to provide her clients the best possible care. She currently has her intermediate manual and manipulation diploma from the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and her functional dry needling (IMS) certification. She has taken courses in headache management, acupuncture, K-taping, diagnostic imaging and soft-tissue treatment techniques.
Sheila is involved in mentorship and education for physiotherapy and kinesiology students through multiple educational institutions. She has also worked with various orthopaedic surgeons on post-operative care/assessment (specific to knees).
She loves to work with a diverse array of clients – from athletes wishing to summit the next mountain to people wanting to get back to putting on their jacket without pain. She believes that the best care is client-centered and evidence-based and provides a holistic treatment focus that addresses education, exercises and manual therapy.
Outside of work, Sheila spends a lot of time chasing after two young children, playing soccer, hiking and running.
